In 2009, members of an online gaming forum called “ESReality” launched into a discussion about Socialism and government as they relate to the politics of video game publishing. The discussion quickly began to shift off-topic, and soon many of the participants were drawn into a full-scale “Flame War.”
FlameWar Deluxe is an interactive transcript of the conversation that transpired. It uses branching text to give the player the ability to maneuver the conversation down one of many possible paths, attempting to keep the Flame War going as long as possible. Points are awarded based on the length of each conversation node the player passes through before the thread reaches an inevitable terminus.
